About TripWatch
Driver-safety and speed-awareness app
What TripWatch does
TripWatch is a driver-safety and speed-awareness app designed to help motorists maintain safe, legal speeds. It uses GPS-based location data to provide speed-limit and road-hazard alerts, including information about known fixed enforcement-camera locations and driver-reported hazards.
TripWatch does not detect radar or laser signals. It relies on published open-data camera locations and reports shared by the driver community.
Safety & legal disclaimer
Always drive safely and legally
- Always obey posted speed limits, road signs and local laws. TripWatch is a driving aid only and does not replace your own judgement or legal responsibilities as a driver.
- Never interact with the app while driving. Set up your route and preferences before you start, or pull over safely before making changes.
- Camera and hazard data may be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate. Alerts are provided for awareness, not as a guarantee that a hazard or enforcement device is present or absent.
- TripWatch does not detect radar or laser signals. It cannot warn about every type of speed enforcement or road hazard.
- The use of camera-alert apps is restricted or prohibited in some countries. It is your responsibility to check and follow the laws of the country or region where you are driving.
Data sources
Fixed camera locations are sourced from OpenStreetMap and other open datasets under their respective licences. Driver-reported hazards are submitted by the TripWatch community and moderated to protect privacy and accuracy.
